We serve more industries than most insurance agencies, and some of these industries are minority-oriented and niche.  Our founder is a veteran and he deliberately makes efforts to supply businesses in less-common lines of work with comprehensive and competitive products.  Social service, non-profit, and human service organizations are among the businesses we serve.  We also serve IT consultants, commercial automobile operations, and contractors.

Commercial Insurance is an independently and veteran owned and operated agency in Howard County Maryland and we deliver insurance and risk management solutions to businesses. We’ve served commercial enterprises since 1989 and we are committed to excellence to our clients and our community. We’ve built our business by paying close attention to clients’ needs and by developing special, comprehensive programs that suit a wide variety of businesses. In 2003 we received the Volunteer of the Year Award given by the Maryland Association of Community Services.

Gordon Mumpower received the Governor’s Volunteer Service Certificate on July 1, 2014.

The Howard County Chamber of Commerce presented the Small Business of the Year Award to Commercial Insurance Managers on October 6, 2017.

Although Lighting the Way to Business Security is our goal, we believe that our ultimate mission is to help others in need.
